Dibble update will be added at the top of the page. I've started by stripping the rear axle and removing petrol tank to enable access to the spring hangers.
episode 1 Rear spring hanger/ chassis repair
episode 2 Front spring hanger on plate repair  Now this work is done, I can start re-building the axle and re-fitting it.

Here is "Dibble" as we found him in the garage. Dibble view
He doesn't look too bad in Old English white that is untill you open the drivers door, Dibble non-existent sill

The rear floor pan has surface rust, sills on passenger side have been replaced. rear floor pan
One spring hanger will need replacing. Rear chassis extension piece on the passenger side also needs replacing.
spring hanger

Rusty sill under B pillar,
hence door gap needs "adjusting".
undersill
as will passenger side rear chassis extention legmore rust
The door gap needs some "adjusting" but the door opened and closed ok, and stayed shut when the car was jacked up. door gap
Fortunately, apart from the sill, spring hanger, rear chassis piece and some surface rust, the car looks quite sound, we hope!
Now we just need to arrange a trailer and car to bring him back and then start the restoration.
The garage reckoned that it would cost about £1000 for them to do it and a weeks work.
I reckon a couple of months or by the end of 06 at the latest to get Dibble to MOT standard and erase those yellow chalk lines. The bloke at the garage was about to shut the door so these were the pics I could take and the time we had to make the assessment. Savable? yes! a bit of work? yes!
